Day 1: From Imlil to Tachedirt – The Adventure Begins

Your 3 days berber villages trek commences with a transfer from your Marrakech hotel to Imlil, where the trek unfolds. Starting from Imlil at 1,740 meters, you’ll ascend to Tachedirt at 2,300 meters, crossing the Tizi n Tamatert mountain pass at 2,279 meters. Over the course of 4 hours of walking, you’ll experience the natural beauty and local life of this region. Your night will be spent in a welcoming local guesthouse.

Day 2: From Tachedirt to Imsker – A Cultural Exploration

On day two, the journey continues as you depart from Tachedirt and make your way to Imsker at 1,300 meters. You’ll descend through the Imnane valley, passing through several Berber villages, each with its own unique charm. Among them, you’ll visit Ounskra, Tamguiste, Ikkis, Amssakrou, and Arg, immersing yourself in the traditions and lifestyles of the local communities. Expect approximately 5 hours of walking, with another restful night in a local guesthouse.

Day 3: From Imsker to Imlil – Completing the Trek

As the final day unfolds, you’ll journey from Imsker at 1,300 meters to Tizi Oussem at 1,900 meters. Along the way, you’ll traverse the Tizi n Lbour mountain pass at 1,500 meters, meander through the Imlil valley, and cross the Tizi n Tacht mountain pass at 2,000 meters. The route leads you through Ait Aissa village, nestled in Azzaden valley, providing a fitting conclusion to your Berber villages trek. Approximately 6 hours of walking are involved on this day. Your final night on the trek will be in a local guesthouse.

Day 4: Returning to Imlil and Marrakech

On the last leg of your journey, you’ll make the return trek from Tizi Oussem at 1,900 meters to Imlil valley at 1,740 meters. The path takes you past the stunning Ighouliden waterfalls and over the Tizi M’zzik mountain pass at 2,450 meters. With approximately 5 hours of walking, you’ll complete your remarkable Berber villages trek and return to Imlil. From there, a transfer will take you back to Marrakech, bringing your journey to a close.

Clothes and Equipments :
Should be dress according to altitude and the environment you will be located in. The most hikers are in high altitude climate in remote area. Therefore, there are often large temperature swings. Temperatures are usually colder at the high altitudes.

Trekking Clothes:

  • Trekking boots or light weight walking shoes.
  • Have comfortable footwear is essential for a good trek.
  • Make sure all footwear is broken in well prior to your trek.
  • Do not break in boots on your trek, a track suit and a pair of track shoes to wear in lodges
  • Two pairs of woolen socks for trekking shoes and track shoes,
  • Warm down jacket and rain proof jacket with hood for protection from rain
  • Warm hat for the cold and sun hat or cap for sunny days
  • A pair of woolen gloves and a pair sandals
  • Cotton T-shirts and pairs of long shorts/skirts
  • Woolen shirts and thick sweaters as well as wind and water proof trousers
  • Pair of light or heavy weight trouser and one light weight long sleeve shirt
  • Pairs of thermal undergarments
