Day 1: Marrakesh to Toubkal Shelter via Imlil
Your journey begins with a scenic drive from Marrakesh to Imlil, the starting point of your hiking adventure. Here, you’ll meet our expert team, including your local guide and muleteers, who will accompany you throughout your trek. Setting out on foot, you’ll weave through the charming village and pay a visit to the marabout of Sidi Shamharouch, a significant place for pilgrims from across Morocco who seek treatment for various ailments. Continuing southward, you’ll reach the Toubkal shelter, where you’ll have lunch, settle in, and spend the night. The first day of your hike involves approximately 5 to 6 hours of walking.
Day 2: Summiting Toubkal Peak and Return to Imlil
On day two, you’ll rise early to conquer the majestic Toubkal Peak, the highest point in North Africa, soaring at 4,167 meters. As you ascend, you’ll be treated to a breathtaking panorama that spans the southern expanse, including the Sirwa massif, the only massif in Morocco that blends natural beauty with culture. To the west, the El Goun region comes into view, enhancing the splendid landscape. After reaching the summit, you’ll return to the shelter for a midday meal and then commence your descent towards Oued Imlil. Your journey will conclude with an overnight stay in the lodge, amounting to a day of approximately 8 to 9 hours of hiking.
Day 3: Return to Imlil Village and Marrakesh
On the final day, after breakfast, you’ll make your way back to Imlil village. From there, you’ll be transported back to Marrakesh, bringing this unforgettable 3-day High Atlas Mountains hiking tour to a close.

Clothes and Equipments :
Should be dress according to altitude and the environment you will be located in. The most hikers are in high altitude climate in remote area. Therefore, there are often large temperature swings. Temperatures are usually colder at the high altitudes.
Toubkal Trekking Clothes:
- Trekking boots or light weight walking shoes.
- Have comfortable footwear is essential for a good trek.
- Make sure all footwear is broken in well prior to your trek.
- Do not break in boots on your trek, a track suit and a pair of track shoes to wear in lodges
- Two pairs of woolen socks for trekking shoes and track shoes,
- Warm down jacket and rain proof jacket with hood for protection from rain
- Warm hat for the cold and sun hat or cap for sunny days
- A pair of woolen gloves and a pair sandals
- Cotton T-shirts and pairs of long shorts/skirts
- Woolen shirts and thick sweaters as well as wind and water proof trousers
- Pair of light or heavy weight trouser and one light weight long sleeve shirt
- Pairs of thermal undergarments
